AL Investments is an independent, ad-funded information service. It has no affiliation with the UK Government, the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government, or any local council.

2. What we collect

We keep this to a minimum, only what is needed to run the site and to send the optional email updates if you ask for them:

Technical data gathered automatically when you visit, such as your IP address, the date and time, the page you viewed and your browser type, held in server log files.
Contact data you choose to provide when signing up for email updates, namely your email address and, if you wish, your first name.

3. Why we use it, and our lawful basis

Running the site securely: we process technical and log data under our legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR) in a stable, secure service.
Sending optional updates: we process your email address on the basis of your consent (Article 6(1)(a) UK GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time.

4. Email updates

Signing up is entirely optional and is not an application for the Crisis and Resilience Fund or any other government fund. Your details are used only to send these updates. You can unsubscribe at any time through the link in any email, or by writing to support@blbistro.com. If we use an outside email provider to deliver the messages, it acts for us under a data processing agreement.

5. Cookies

We use only cookies that are strictly necessary for the site to work, such as remembering your choice on the cookie notice. These do not need consent. We do not set analytics or advertising cookies that would require consent. If that ever changes, we will ask you first.

6. Advertising networks

You may have arrived here through an advertising network such as Taboola or Outbrain. Those networks may process information about your visit for their own campaign measurement, as separate controllers under their own privacy policies. We do not sell your personal data.

7. Sharing

We do not share your information with third parties except where it is needed to run the service, for example our hosting or email provider, or where the law requires it.

8. How long we keep it

Server logs are kept only as long as needed for security and technical operation. Sign-up data is kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.

9. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you may ask to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, and you have the right to data portability. To do so, email support@blbistro.com. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

10. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy when our processing or the law changes. The version shown here is the one that applies.
